Soprano Lead Job Post
We are looking for a strong soprano lead who can commit to attending Thursday rehearsals and Sunday services. Thursday rehearsals are from 7:45pm to 8:45pm in the church sanctuary and Sunday services are at 10:30am (ending at about 11:45am), with a choral warmup at 10:00am.
The applicant should have sight-reading skills and the ability to sing solos as well as lead the soprano section of the choir. Much of our choral music is from the Classical European tradition of Mendelssohn, Bach, Schubert and others, accompanied by pipe organ or grand piano. We also feature new music of the Anglican Church of Canada, such as the new hymnal supplement Sing a New Creation.
St. Barnabas Anglican Church is located in the vibrant Greektown neighbourhood of Toronto, across from Carrot Common and just steps away from TTC Chester Station.
Starting date: October 6, 2022 (or to be discussed).
Payment: $400/month

General Synod meets bi-annually, usually around the 3rd week of November. There is a Eucharist Service on the Thursday, evening, General Meeting all day Friday, and Financial Meeting on Saturday. There is a pre-synod meeting for each area that should be attended as often items are discussed and voted on prior to synod at this meetings. A report back to the
congregation is made together with the Incumbent usually in the newsletter. If interested in this position please speak with Jane Smith or Rev. Jeanette Lewis.
Alternate Delegate for Synod
This would be someone willing to step in if the Delegate is unable to make the meeting. Duties would be the same. If interested in this position please speak with Jane Smith or Rev. Jeanette Lewis.
